SHISHIN SAMURAI CAFE & BAR [Restaurant] ~ Kyoto

“Thank you for coming to this restaurant tonight. I am, Tomonari Hamamura, the owner of this restaurant. Since I was a child, my dream has not been changed. It is to make the peaceful world without war. I went to UK to get a master degree on Peace Studies. Also, I have traveled across the continent from Europe to Shanghai through Iran, Pakistan and Himalaya. After I had a variety of experiences, I opened this restaurant based on three concepts. One of them is “Food” which was the first cause of war. Second one is “Culture” which has a soft power to prevent war. Third one is “Bushido” (Samurai ethical code) whose ultimate goal is to make peace. Based on these three concepts, I opened this bar for dreamers or innovators to discuss for peace and our future with drinking and eating together.

Since its opening (25th May, 2011), a variety of well-known media such as French National TV, Lonely Planet Kyoto, 知日(a prestigious Chinese magazine) to name a few have made a special report about this restaurant. From now on, I will continue to send peaceful messages to the world and try to serve you delicious foods and drinks, and create a peaceful time and space where you can relax and make friends beyond national borders. So, please enjoy here and feel like your home in Japan. Thank you.
