Azuma Arare Honpo co.,ltd Ryogoku [Rice cracker Shops]~Tokyo~
In 1910, founder Masuemi Kobayashi established his arare and okaki rice cracker business in Ryogoku, Tokyo.
For the next 106 years his store has used Japanese rice and other ingredients carefully selected from across the country, has adopted a policy of constantly innovating, has inherited and upheld ancient culinary traditions, and has continued to create products that cater to current tastes.
In recent years we have been actively adapting western flavors such as gouda cheese and pepperoncini to new experimental expressions of Japanese confectioneries.
Inspired by how the location of our Ryogoku head store is near the birthplace of famous ukiyoe artist Katsushika Hokusai, in 2003 we launched a specialty deep-fried rice cracker, “Hokusai-agé,” which represents the area by being based off of Hokusai’s paintings.
With that, because the Sumida Hokusai Art Museum is located on near our store, we have received a large deal of publicity and we have had a number of interviews with TV programs, radio programs, magazines, and other media, and we are receiving a large volume of inquiries across the country.
